♪ Astrid Shepherd - Tenor

Astrid has been singing Barbershop with Amersham A Cappella for about 8 years and is the tenor section leader. Before joining Amersham A Cappella she had sung in various classical choirs including the Royal Choral Society (based at the Royal Albert Hall). She has also performed as a soloist at weddings, funerals and functions of various kinds.

Astrid spent her childhood in Wales and therefore had a very musical upbringing – competing and winning prizes as a soloist in local and national eisteddfods and winning a silver medal at the International Eisteddfod in Llangollen.

In ‘real’ life Astrid works for the local council as a customer services advisor and also works part-time as a ceremonies registrar, travelling around the Buckinghamshire hotels officiating at weddings – it’s a tough job, but somebody has to do it! Astrid lives in Amersham with her husband, two step-children and a very spoilt dog!
